7 - Video Poker Glossary
Four straight - Four of the five cards needed for a straight.
Full house - Three-of-a-kind and a pair.
Garbage hand - A hand of no potential value, that does not even contain a low pair.
Hand - The cards held by a player.
High card - A jack, queen, king, or ace.
High pair - A pair of jacks, queens, kings, or aces.

Inside straight - Four of the five cards needed for a straight with a gap between the lowest and highest cards. The gap can be filled with a card of only one rank, or a total of four possible cards.
Jackpot - The largest payout on any particular machine.
Jacks or better - A game in which a pair of jacks is the lowest-paying hand.
Joker - An extra card in the deck that is designated as a wild card. See wild card.
Kicker - An unmatched card held in the hand when drawing replacement cards. Not a recommended strategy in video poker.
